Kris Kassalen, LMT - Masters in Library/Media Technology

All students visit the library once a week. Ms. Kassalen collaborates with teachers to meet classroom objectives and integrate technology into the learning process.  She works to design and organize library materials to meet the leveled reading and interest needs of the student population while creating an environment in which all children can learn and be accepted. Each week, she works with students to get them excited about reading and to help them select books to check out that are both interesting and provide an appropriate challenge.

She is currently building an OPAC online system that will be accessible to Porter Academy students and staff beginning Fall of 2011.
