





Porter Academy
A Special Place for Children with Learning Differences
Founded in 2000, the Porter Academy specializes in teaching students with language-based learning disabilities, sensory integration disorders, and mild to moderate learning-style differences who have not been successful in a traditional classroom setting.
The Porter Academy is fully accredited by The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. We are members of the Georgia Independent Schools Association and the Georgia Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children. Our program is appropriate for students in grades Pre K-5 with any of the following difficulties:
Processing language at the same rate and in the same way as their peers
Processing sensory information
Fine, gross, and visual motor development
Reading, decoding, spelling and writing
Problem solving and comprehension skills
Math calculation and reasoning
Dyslexia
Auditory discrimination
The Georgia Special Needs Scholarship offers eligible students with disabilities the opportunity to attend an approved private school or another public school.
